Let's Recap, Shall We?!

In My World:

Not much happened this week, although my writing progress has been awesome! I'm about to reach the half-mark on my book, so that's refreshing. Oh, and tomorrow I leave for our beach house for the Eid, so I might be on hiatus a couple of days. Happy Eid everyone!

On the blog:

-
I wrote a short story from a villain's perspective,
-I drew silly illustrations of the different types of readers. (Find out which one you are!)
-I reviewed (and LOVED) Finnikin of The Rock by Melina Marchetta.
-I also reviewed  The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner.
Cover Reveal:

This is one of my favourite Indie books ever, and today, the fourth in the series of Eden gets it's reveal. Tadaaa...

Find on Goodreads.

Also, this isn't exactly blog related, but I found this beautiful article called: You Should Date an Illiterate Girl by Charles Warnke. I've been quoting it for the past two days on twitter.

AND, here is this VERY important article responding to an idiotic prank that was done in Vidcon. Basically, a couple of guys saw it was okay to run after girls, grab them from behind, and walk away with them, hence "picking up" girls. Funny, right? right?

NO!

The video has been deleted, but here is an article written by author C. J Redwine explaining why it's not okay.

How was your week, evil pumpkins? (I haven't given you guys a nickname in a LONG time).

I've been unproductive this week D: school starts in 2 weeks and I have not done ANY of my AP homework (which are: one 7page essay, 19 case briefs, 1 art history essay) yup. I'm a big, fat procrastinator.

  2. I AM VERY PROUD TO BE AN EVIL PUMPKIN, why thank you very much.
Thanks for sharing the Charles Warnke article. I am going to read it right after this :). And then I too am going to go write -- congrats on the writing progress! If only that were true for me...
Happy Eid to you as well! And have fun at the beach house!

  3. Whew! It's an honor to be called an Evil Pumpkin. Nyahahahaha! Halloween time
You've been busy, Reem. And thanks for putting all those links of the other blogs that you have visited. It goes to show that I've missed some important discussions in the blogosphere this week. Well, it's never too late to pay them a visit. :D
Charles Warnke is awesome and very honest. I can actually see that happening around me. Men trying to avoid women who are too smart for them and settling for illiterate women so that they can boss them around. It's really kind of disheartening to see this women going on with life tending to their husbands like mindless slaves. I mean they're missing so much in life. And the good for nothing husbands revel in their stupidity because that means they can continue to impose their machismo without suffering significant repercussions as compared to fighting an educated woman.
And that article about Jake Vale, I hope those girls would sue him and give him the ^*&%&*% he so deserved. And I couldn't agree more to what CJ has said, that he's a complete misogynistic douchebag!

Thanks for sharing all of these. :D

  5. Oooh beach house. Enjoy! And thanks for linking to me!
And uhm... no. It is not okay for guys to "pick up girls" like that. That is just horrible. I would freak out that someone is trying to kidnap me. ><

  6. EVIL PUMPKINS! I love pumpkins and I love evil.

I didn't have a chance to watch the prank video but I read the letter last night and I got so angry.... seriously, imagine one of the girls that was grabbed had actually gone through something so tramautic as rape/rape attempt? She would have freaked out! If everything was planned before and the girl knew and it was just a joke to film, fine... but, really? These guys obviously don't have functional brains.

  10. I hope you get to visit all the posts you missed. And ugh, that ideo was soo disgusting. At one point, one of the boys even say "MTV pays us 5 million dollars, so we don't mind if we get fined."

I mean, seriously? How spoiled do you have to be to make such a statement? The video straight up made me sick!

I 100% agree with your opinion. Very well said, Charlotte!

  12. Anything with evilness works for Eve. Wait a second.. it's no coincidence your name is Eve? HUHH?!

One of the girls actually yelled at them, and they got stopped by three women and they didn't even apologize! *sigh* spoiled, ignorant and straight up creeps!
